Sui-Sutai Shwapnobuni: Empowering Women Through Skill Development

Writing by Banglar Bagh Foundation

About the Project: Banglar Bagh Foundation organized a 1-month-long sewing training program, "Sui-Sutai Shwapnobuni," from 1 June 2024 to 30 June 2024. This initiative aimed to empower marginalized women in Palashpur, Barishal City Corporation, by equipping them with valuable sewing skills.

Our Mission: To provide skill-based training to underprivileged women, enabling them to achieve financial independence and preserve the cultural heritage of Nakshi sewing.

What We Did
  • Conducted a comprehensive sewing training program focused on Nakshi embroidery.
  • Trained 30 women in advanced sewing techniques to enhance their livelihood opportunities.
  • Provided certificates to all participants upon successful completion of the program.

Our Impact: This initiative not only empowered women with valuable skills but also paved the way for economic opportunities. By learning Nakshi sewing, participants can now contribute to their household income, gain self-sufficiency, and keep traditional craftsmanship alive.

Join Us: Support our mission by contributing, volunteering, or collaborating with us. Together, we can create more opportunities for marginalized communities and transform lives through skill development.
