Moner Baksho

Writing by Banglar Bagh Foundation

Project "Moner Baksho" (Minds Thought Box of Mothers and Fathers) is one of the ongoing projects of Banglar Bagh Foundation that was started on 5th july, 2024 at the elderly rehabilitation welfare organization of Barisal city.

Our organization believes that the aged people are our assets and pillar of strength. Though the aged people get care in old age home, they always miss their family as they are away from their children and relatives. Many of their hopes and aspirations remain unspoken. Most of the time they don’t even get proper medical treatment. If they get a chance to share their feelings with someone and get proper treatment, it feels like heaven to them. Keeping this scenario in mind “Banglar Bagh Foundation” tried to work with elderly parents in order to bring precious smile in their face as a part of its social welfare activities.

Past Activities

  • Gave attention to the emotions and aspirations of aging parents.
  • Elderly parents were given nourishing food as a form of refreshment.
  • ▪ Established a "Mind Box" where aging parents can place a piece of paper expressing their needs, feelings, and thoughts. To fulfill their desires, the organization gathers information from the box once a month. For the last few months, we have tried our best to fulfil their needs.
  • Elderly parents enjoyed Iftar in holy Ramadan month with the members of the organization.

Our Broader Vision

In the near future, Insha-Allah, we aim to expand the Moner Baksho project to elderly homes and rehabilitation centers across the country. We plan to introduce a network of “Mind Boxes” nationwide, supported by local volunteers and partner organizations, ensuring elderly parents in different corners of Bangladesh have their voices heard and their well-being prioritized. Our future plans include incorporating regular health checkups, counseling sessions, and interactive programs to improve the mental and physical health of our aging population.

We invite compassionate individuals, institutions, and partners to support this heartfelt initiative. Your contributions—whether financial, material, or voluntary—will help us scale the Moner Baksho project and strengthen our upcoming programs aimed at supporting the most neglected sections of society. Please consider supporting us toward future projects as we continue this mission of care and connection.
